| The Indian
Ocean Biogeographic Information System (IndOBIS),
the data component of Global Biogeographic Information System (OBIS),
was the first major initiative of IO-CoML. It is also the marine data component
of the Global Biodiversity Information Facility (GBIF) With a current inventory of more than 36000 holding of authenticated species data, this is probably the fastest growing node of OBIS. IndOBIS has also launched Data Upload Facility (IndOBIS DUF) to facilitate data contributions by agencies, institutions and experts working on variety of aspects dealing with Indian Ocean Biodiversity.
